Friday Check in


Remember how I mentioned I had gained in the last post? Yeah - that happened. I gained back my loss for the month in one weekend y'all. Hence the "1st place in a pie eating contest!" ribbon below. I was trying to eat my way through all the donuts, pizzas and sandwiches in Houston last weekend!

Weight loss is difficult sometimes - I see so many success stories out there for people who live moderate lifestyles and have occasional indulgences, but not a whole lot about the times when they gain and are somewhat demoralized. It would be awesome if each week was a loss and cupcakes were a diet food, but the reality is that any life change is difficult and weight loss programs take time, effort and faith.

New NEW newness that's new!



There's a lotta new brewing in my life and in this blog this week! First and foremost, I cut off all my hair! Boom - gone. I have had short hair for most of my life and decided to grow it back out for a bit. That experiment ended at 1:30 p.m. today when I decided to chop my coiffe into a crop. Change #1!

Weigh in Monday - 9/19/11





Hello friends! I hope your summer is coming to a lovely end - here in Texas, we have had two glorious days of rain, so yay September! 


It's about midway through the month and I'm surprised to be on track for my goals - huzzah!


Goal: 5 lbs by end of September
Weight loss: 1
Left to lose before deadline (Sept 30): 1.2
Habit swap (veggies for fried foods) - still on track, but barely - I have had some run ins with french fries...
Walking: still once a week, but have added in another fitness class (details to come!)

Weigh in Monday - 9/12/11



Hello hello peoples! I'm feeling pretty good after today's weigh in - especially after the week of stuffing-tha-face known as Ranchcation on Labor Day weekend. I weighed in last week to get a baseline - up about 2 pounds - and then this week to see what small diet tweaks could do. They make a difference yo!

Goal: 5 lbs by end of September
Weight loss: 2.8

Left to lose before deadline (Sept 30): 2.2

September is here! This month marks not only my six year wedding anniversary (WOO HOO!), but also my mother's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEST MOM EVER!), my grandfather's birthday (PAPA - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!) and a new monthly goal!

In September, I will be replacing fried food (yes I try to eat too much of it) in my dietary pyramid with more veggies. Anytime the opportunity to eat something fried shows up, veggie time!

Also, I will be adding walks 2 days a week to my fitness plan - now I will have bootcamp twice, walking for 30 - 45 minutes twice and, hopefully, grab a yoga class now and then. 

Weight loss goals - I'm dialing it down to 3lbs. If I hit 5, woo hoo! If I make 3, still woo hoo!
